Riverton, Southland

Evening talk -
An Introduction to biodynamics with Peter and Gill Bacchus
a system to improve soil, plant,
animal health, sustainability and quality of produce         No charge
On:  Wednesday, 1 February 7.30 – 9.00pm  
At:  
Environment Centre, Riverton

Field day for farmers and home gardeners
On:     Thursday, 2 February     10.30 am – 3.30 pm
At:      near Riverton - Strudwickes Farm near Limehill School 

Discussions led by Peter Bacchus:
the importance of oxygen in soil fertility the biodynamic preparations, how and when they are used on gardens and farms
the conditions in which weeds flourish and ways to change those conditions  
We will build a cow manure heap (for improving soil fertility) and make a weed tea (for weed management) and add biodynamic preparations to them  
Morning and afternoon tea provided. Please bring your own lunch.
Cost to cover expenses: $10 each, $15/couple


Farmer Field day  South Otago
On:  Thursday, 9 February     10.30 am – 3.30 pm

At:  Marama Farm, Cameron Road, Waipahi, South Otago

Manawatu
On: 15 February   10am - 2.30pm
At: Craig Maxwell's farm,  1199 Tangimoana Road

Taranaki
On: 17 February   10am - 2.30pm
At:  Royden Phillips Farm

Both these field days will discuss:
iMaximising pasture and milk production to increase net profit

Bring your own lunch, and a koha to cover expenses.

At   Della Woods orchard   Oikimoke Road, Te Puna 
Activities:   Making cow manure heap
